Derby's most senior judge has bid an emotional farewell to the legal profession in the city after sentencing his last criminal. Judge John Burgess told a full house in courtroom one at Derby Crown Court that working in the city has been "a pleasure and a privilege" during his eight-year tenure as the Recorder of Derby.
