BINMEN had to call out the bomb squad after finding a "home-made" device in the rubbish bag.
Staff at the Raynesway recycling centre discovered a suspicious item while helping a customer to unload bags of waste at the site yesterday.
Police were called, along with explosive experts from the Ministry of Defence, who carried out a controlled explosion.
